MY JOURNEY TO JAPANESE
I studied Japanese and Japanese literature at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague. Through the Japan Foundation, I completed a three-month methodology course for Japanese teachers in Urawa, Japan.
I lived and studied in Kyoto for a year, where I devoted myself to studying the Urasenke school of tea ceremony. After returning to the Czech Republic, I actively participated in teaching tea ceremony at the Czech-Japanese Society in Prague for several years.
I have been teaching Japanese for over 20 years – both in the form of individual lessons and group courses in post-secondary education at the Spěváček language school. In addition to teaching, I also work as an interpreter for Japanese companies operating in the Czech Republic and guide Japanese tourists.
In my work, I combine theoretical knowledge of the language with its practical application in real-life situations, with an emphasis on cultural context, natural communication, and the individual needs of students.
